Textile Facilities

Field and Processing Facility Tours

Cherry Research Station | Goldsboro, NC

Cherry Research Station is NC State’s 2,245-acre research farm dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture and field crop innovation. Dr. David Suchoff, Extension Specialist and hemp researcher, conducts influential work on variety trials, agronomic best practices, planting densities, and harvest timing that inform scalable, fiber-focused hemp production. The station’s plots demonstrate how science-based cultivation methods build the agronomic foundation needed to supply consistent, high-quality hemp stalks for North Carolina’s emerging textile pipeline.

BIOPHIL Natural Fibers | Lumberton, NC

BIOPHIL Natural Fibers grows, decorticates, and purifies American-grown hemp stalk into scalable, textile-grade fiber and feedstock. They partner with the Textile Innovation Engine, YUJ Labs, and North Carolina farmers to advance regenerative agriculture, develop clean processing chemistries, and build quality controls that bridge local supply with commercial textile manufacturing demand.
